My vision with creating Brutto (Italian for ugly) was to take images or ideas that are stereotypically unappealing or gross and create a cool, counter-culture brand. The three main pieces I created were a skateboard of rotten, spilled milk; a woman vomiting the brand name; and a blob fish which is known as an unappealing animal. I even used the ugliest font imaginable (Comic Sans MS) for the logo and arranged it in a different way to look different and new. Skateboarders usually aim to be different and this brand satisfies this need by going against what is typically considered attractive.
